Hi sisters! I hope you are having a fabulous end to the week. Mine is just peachy! I am always so grateful when Saturday gets here because I get to Sabbath. Which for me means a complete pause from the rest of the week. A day of break as ordained in the Bible. No working for me, just simply sleeping in. Breakfast in bed with hubby. We just get to bask in the goodness of God and worship and study the Word. What about you? What do you do on Saturday? Do you honor the Sabbath day? If you don't, I will recommend you read about it in the Bible and know that God ordained it a holy day and wanted us to keep it as a lasting covenant.

Anyhow, on this blog I want to summarize the Titus study for Chapter 2 and this will be the second time writing this since I mistakenly erased it yesterday; which was a total bummer.

Have you ladies heard of the Proverbs 31 woman? How about the Titus 2 woman?

I don’t like making doctrines out of passages in the Bible, however these are passages specifically geared towards biblical womanhood, and I’m all about that. So, as we dive into the summary for chapter 2, I want you to pay attention to the Titus woman.

Let’s begin!

Paul continues his letter to Titus addressing the aged men to be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity and in patience.

He then gives specific instructions regarding the aged women. The women are to behave holy, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things. To teach the younger women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children. To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands. So that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Now, the meaning of blasphemed per the Merriam Webster is to speak in a way that shows irreverence for God or something sacred: to utter blasphemy

  • blaspheming against God

Did you notice that Paul addressed the older women and the young ones at the same time? Encouraging the older women to teach the younger women on godliness and biblical womanhood.

Paul then continues the letter addressing younger men, with yet again being sober minded.

Let’s define sober minded: The definition of sober-minded is someone who is serious and sensible. A person who is studious and logical is an example of someone who would be described as sober-minded.

Moving on, Paul expresses the importance of shewing a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity and sincerity. Only speaking in sound speech that cannot be condemned, therefore the contrary party will be put to shame and having nothing evil to say.

Paul also addresses that those that serve must be in obedience to their leaders, and to be pleasing to them. Not purloining (stealing), but being of good fidelity, adorning the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

Paul them highlights the grace that has been extended to all men which is salvation through Yeshua Hamashiach. Which teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust. Living soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. As we look towards that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and Saviour Yeshua Hamashiach.

Chapter 2 ends with Paul reminding us that Jesus gave Himself for us, not so we can continue to sin but that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Paul states to speak these things, to exhort and rebuke with all authority, letting no man despise thee for speaking the truth.

That is the summary for chapter 2, look out for the 3rd and final summary for Titus. That should be posted hopefully tomorrow.

With that said, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, Elohim, we thank You for the glorious offering of Your Son Yeshua Hamashiach. To redeem us from sin and to present us as peculiar people, zealous of good works. I pray that the woman reading this will be a clear example of the Proverbs 31 woman as well as the Titus 2 woman. May her light shine to set a godly example for the young. May she be obedient to her husband, keeper of her home both physically and spiritually. May she be drunk on the Holy Ghost and not on wine. May she be a lover to her husband and love her children as unto the Lord. Obedient to the word of God in all manner. Likewise, I pray for the men in her life. May he be a leader that leads a godly life. Denying all ungodliness and having a sober mind. May he be patient and of good character extending charity to those in need. I pray for the younger ones; may they have the sense to follow the instructions of their father. May they be uncorrupted and sincere in all that they do. In Jesus name, amen

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
